2 hard weeks into the season, and team manager Mike Auffret is already pulling his hair out.
"Honestly, I don't know what to do for the best. In week 1, we absolutely dominated the start of the meeting, and threw it away in the later heats, with Mike taking a nasty fall when Aaron Dowden stormed under him. Honestly, I thought the move had no place on a speedway track, and I will make sure that he doesn't get a nice reception when he makes it back to Burslem.
But that was that. A 4 point loss in one we can pull back for the bonus point. The loss of Mike has hurt us.
Week 2 saw London make the trip up to us. They are the definition of a 2 man team, and being a heat leader down, we struggled to put a dent into these 2 riders. The fact that our R/R for Mike only scored 6 tells you all you need to know. We are behind the 8 ball now in terms of getting points on the board, thanks to what one stupid rider did at Hull. We will look at our line up to see if we can tweak it to give us a better chance of winning, and a better way to cover the R/R rides, but it just sticks in your throat knowing that one riders actions could leave us with problems for weeks."

Hull Manager Mark Evans has defended his rider Aaron Dowden after reading criticism of his riding style by Burslem boss Auffret.
'I can't believe him, this just smacks of sour grapes to me' he is quoted before the forthcoming KO Cup matches.
Auffret will get some stick at Priory Park when he brings the Braves to Hull. Evans wonders if Auffret watched his uncle Frankie ride at The Boulevard years ago as he would have seen Hull favorite Tony Childs pull off that move regularly.
The Cup matches will be spiced up affairs now and a big crowd is expected to turn up to cheer Aaron on.
