I love cars. Pure and simple, I love them. So when I got a chance to sign a rider named after the great Enzo Ferrari, how could I refuse?
Our own little Enzo has had a shaky start to life in the UL, but we always knew it was going to be tough for him. He is a 19 year old kid in a new country, on new tracks against the best riders in the World.
But he has held his own, and the talent is there for all to see. You can see him getting more and more comfortable on the UK tracks each week, and he keeps scoring points. That is all we can ask for.
In the break week, we have taken the time to sit him down with Ryan (Irwin) and Scott (Robinson, rider coach) and helped him with set ups and his riding style. Honestly, I have never seen someone take information in like him. You can really tell that he wants to be the best, and there is a definite edge to him, but you could see the frustration in his eyes at losing races. He wants to win every race he is in, and he has the talent to do so.
This end to the season will be fascinating, because he has the ability to be a real trump card at reserve. I've made no secret of the fact that I want to bring him back next season, so hopefully riding with that knowledge will allow him to ride without pressure, because in full flight, he is fantastic to watch.
