This week the Bullets host the Stone Cross Stars, seeking a morale boosting home win. Stone Cross have a solid septet and are led by the highly rated Ben Harris. Harris is many people's Riders Champion Elect and has started the season in scintillating form. Duff was keen to look to his own assets though, " Harris is without doubt a class act and has been ably supported so far by Stefab Botezatu, however I feel we have the solidity to take the racing to the Stars and give Harris and co plenty to think about, Hamish will ride at 2 this week to give Zoltan some support, leaving Mike Cartwright at 3 with Will Stone at 4, where his experience should be a boost for Will, Carts is great round the Arena and should offer Will support. I also really beleive in our reserve duo this week and tip them to have a real go at the Star's second string, in fact they could even steal places from the Stone Cross top three."
Stone Cross's manager laid down the gauntlet on the Star's own website - taunting the Bottesford outfit as the Bottesford Blanks
Duff was keen to react positively, "I'm sure Spencer's comment was very much tongue in cheek, however I will pin the report on the pits wall to motivate the lads, I'm looking forward to being back at home this week, the crowd have been good and hugely supportive of what we are trying to achieve here, Stone Cross will come looking for a fight and I'm keen to make sure it's not us who go home with a bloody nose, metaphorically speaking. I trust in the team and we are more than ready to deliver a performance to send the fans home happy - There's sure to be a decent crowd with the weather set fair, so get those backsides, trackside "
Tapes up is at 7.00pm and the usual children under 14 free summer offer will be running, along with a meet and greet session from 5.45 to 6.15 where the pit gate will be open to the public to ensure the fans get access to the riders. The Promotion is keen to build on the close bond already flourishing, believing the relationship between riders and fans is a real boost for all concerned.
"We are in a false league position, having only raced once at home in the league so far" Paul Duff was at pains to impress, "Our local rivals Hull sit 3rd in the table and we have beaten them twice already this term, whilst I am not singling Hull out, in fact I have a huge amount of respect for our nearest and dearest rivals, I am keen to use this example to show we aren't a million mile away from hitting a rich vein of form and climbing up the table over the next few weeks, I really do see us as a top 4/5 team so i'm really targetting this as a marker"
