10/09/2015 - at THE FLIGHT PATH - free entry (no count)
SIM SPEEDWAY 2015/16 - COACHES CANTER - QUALIFYING ROUND
The coaches welcomed this lighthearted competition and with many needing help to cock their legs over the bikes, the laughter was almost as loud as the bikes. The meeting at the superb little stadium that makes up the Flight Path on the Thames Estuary saw plenty of interested fans in this free to enter event.
Lee Oliver belied his years and his equipment looked in tip top condition, Adam Roper one of the older lads out there pushed himself to the limit, afterwards he advised "been doing some light training to get my body moving, now I am in the competition properly". The novelty act was Jinky Baxter who has never ridden competitively, ended the meeting beating off two of the meetings qualifiers, heat 20 saw him trailing in last until Challis fell on the last bend, making it difficult for both Harrington and Porter to pass the hapless rider, whilst all this was going on somehow Baxter nicked in for a first win in competitive speedway.
So the top 8 riders now move into the competition proper.
