American star Braxton McChesney took his first Ironopolis crown on his return to the Dock Yard. with victory over defending champion Hans E Bergestol, Hayden Wood and Boris Dvoynev.
Teesside boss Graeme Bailey was delighted with another success show on the banks of the Tees.
“I am delighted for Braxton. He is having a great year with Whitby and let’s not forget he is a Teesside rider and will be remaining so for the foreseeable future.
“But what a great night, I thought the two Russians Boris and Vladislav were brilliant and I thought some of the new foreign guys really stood out. Ludek was very good but Donato was outstanding and almost claimed a spot in the final.
“I was just happy for the fans, seeing all that along with the world class riders like Bergestol, Wood, Verner and Ambrose. Everyone at the club is chuffed with another top night.”
