Thornaby Thunder manager James Boothby has declared himself satisfied with his teams start - even though they find themselves at the bottom of the table after 6 meetings.
"Things have been ok so far, we have been quite pleased with how everything has gone so far. Moving into the Power League was a big step up for us, and a huge challenge as well! We had to pretty much build a side from scratch but it has all came together quite nicely."
Two of last years side kept their places for the jump up the leagues - and Boothby has been pleased with the improvement and form of both.
"I have been really pleased with the form of Joost (De Villiers) and Detlev (Ortiz). Joost has had a tough ask, having to ride at number 2 so far bur we have been pleased with his efforts. He will drop to reserve alongside Detlev from the next meeting, and we hope they will provide a potent pairing. Detlev has been riding well at reserve - we all hope this continues!"
Thornaby have a home meeting against Wednesfield in week 8, and Boothby is expecting another tough tie/
"There are no easy fixtures in this league, and especially against a good side like Wednesfield. We will go into the meeting with confidence though - we feel a home we can beat the best!"
In other news, Wout Ledercq has left Thornaby and joined Southside on a full transfer. Boothby was sad to see him go, but stressed it was a good move for both parties.
"I'd like to thank Wout for his efforts last season. He came as an unknown bt did well for us. Unfortunately we could not fit him in this season, and he has been very keen to get a ride. The offer from Southside came in an we felt it was a good offer. We wish him all the best."
