Wednesfield Wanderers picked up another away point at Thornaby earning a 45-45 draw. The top 2 of Dvoynev and Vaughan scored 11 each from 5 rides, but it was the form at reserve of Canadian Dylan Goess, whose paid 10 riding from the previously luckless number 6 slot that earned the team an away point. Manager Steve Morgan added, " that was a cracking result and big up for Dylan!!! A spell at reserve could be what he needed, and it was great to see such a great return of points...as good as anything we have had this season. All the boys are working so hard, helping and encouraging each other, and we are nicely tucked in the league table. The table is so so tight, these away points could be vital come the end of the season..." Wednesfield suffered a first round defeat and no progression to the Final. Morgan added, "success in this would have been nice. It gets you a few quid to re invest. I'll take the League and Pairs double any day of the week!!" There was also great news for the club with Boris Dvoynev finishing 2nd in the European Final and earning a place at the GP qualifier. Also, Jamie Vaughan earned his place by finishing 5th in the British Final. Morgan added, " this is a filip for the club, and they deserve all the success that comes their way as both boys attitudes and application is second to none. We as a club wish them every success in trying to achieve a place in next years GP's...."
