Tunstall performed late heroics to snatch a draw at high flying Kings Lynn, with Ryan Irwin then putting in 4 sensational laps to ensure that the bonus point came back to the Potteries.
"I'm happy with now things went, but we were so close" said a visibly delighted Steve Donaldson.
"After 11 heats, we were 8 down, and that is always tough to come back from, but we dug in, and a couple of big 5-1s, and then Enzo with an incredible ride with Henrik in heat 14 and I thought we had a chance at the win. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be, but to turn an 8 point deficit into a 2 point lead going into 15 was fantastic.
When you look down the scorecard, we had less last places, and had a more solid team performance, but in the end it wasn't to be. It gave me a lot of food for thought moving forward though, and I was delighted in the way in which we picked ourselves up.
I do want to give a bit of special praise to Enzo and Henrik. They knew there was a lot of pressure on them in heat 14, but they went out and did themselves proud. Enzo rode a perfect 4 laps, showing us what he can do, and Henrik had the maturity to let him go and protect him. It really did show that we have characters in this team who are capable of shining in the big moments. While I don't think we can win the league this season (Thought that won't stop me from trying), I feel that the riders we have give us a great platform for not only next year, but years to come. I've made no secret of the fact that I would like to make Gabrys and Enzo assets, and if we do, that would mean that the riders we have as a core as assets have an average age of 22, which is an incredible thing to have. I honestly believe that if we can keep Pawel, Enzo, Gabrys, Josef and Henrik as the core of the Terriors, then we will have success for years to come. I would love to add Olle and Ryan as assets as well, but that is for another discussion at another time.
I'm proud of every single rider tonight. They all rode their hearts out, and got revenge for Kings Lynn taking points off us at home earlier in the season."
