Alain De Gruchy – 14 Glastonbury Gunners Channel Islander Part 9
Maidstone Knights Medway Arena
09/03/2015 at Medway Arena - Att:349
JJ South Round 8
With another 3 hour drive to the track at Maidstone the afternoon was dry and Alain hoped they were going to water the track so it would not be too dusty for racing.
Ht 4 A good start from Alain and was able to keep in touch with the leader Kallstrom, and when Gagen took to the infield with bike problems it made things a little easier for Alain and picked up 2 pts
Ht 7Alain made hard work keeping Beaton in last place ,so Alain picked up 1pt
Ht 10 These JJ riders are very good and this showed as Alain limped home in last place almost ½ a lap behind.
Ht 16 Alain was in 2nd place as they went into the first bend, and for 2 laps was looking good for points, but Josephs had other ideas and over took Alain on the 4th bend to place Alain in 3rd place and 1 point
Ht 17 Trott, T J Imbert, & How were just too good as Alain trailed in last, Alain soon packed up and left and headed off to Glastonbury
4: Kelly Kallstrom, Alain De Gruchy, Neil Askew, Alex Gagen (R)
7: Lee Bryant, Dave Hemus, Alain De Gruchy, Boyd Beaton

23/03/2015 at West Coast Arena - Att: 329 JJ South Round 9
Aberavon Gems West Coast Arena A 2hr drive took Alain’s team into Wales and to the home of the Aberavon Gems, they found the track to be Grippy, 295 Metres, and had an air fence. With Rd 9 all the boys were looking for a good finish by getting a fist full of points
Ht 1 Alain lead from the gate and was leading goin into the 2 lap, then the bke started to miss fire and both Beaton, & Hemus, over took Alain, Alain nursed the bike home for 1 point
Ht 6 Alain’s bike seem to be going backwards in this meetingas he sliped from 2nd place to 3rd place…1pt
Ht 10 Starting on the outside Alain made a fair start but the others overtook him leaving Alain in 3rd place…1pt
Ht 14 Alain was last out from the gate and last going into the 3 lap when Wakerley pulled out of the race and on to the infield, Alain picked up 1 point
Ht 18 Alain was quick out of the gate and was first into the bend, but as the laps ticked away he found that the bike was slowing down and soon found himself at the back …..0pts
1: Boyd Beaton, Dave Hemus, Alain De Gruchy, Alex Gagen 6: Mitchell Spink, Ross How, Alain De Gruchy, Carl Griffin 10: Russell Genz, T J Imbert, Alain De Gruchy, Kelly Kallstrom 14: Lee Bryant, Wayne Josephs, Alain De Gruchy, Ashley Wakerley (R) 18: Niall Lowriston, Jordan Trott, Sam Kydd, Alain De Gruchy

06/04/2015 at Aviators Arena - Att: 377 JJ South Round 10 Another 3hour drive from Glastonbury this time to Iwade for the last round of this years JJ.
Ht 3 Alain took on Lowriston and Trott in Ht 3 but they were too good for him and Alain was in 3rd place for all 4 laps…1 pts
Ht 6 Heat 6 was a repeat of ht 3…1 point
Ht 12 With some fast gating Alain made the start and this time he made no mistakes and lead from start to finish, and only 3 riders finished as Kallstrom fell on lap 3
Ht 15 Alain pushed Imbert all the way for 4 laps, to pick up 2 pts as again only 3 riders finished as Hemus fell on lap 2
Ht 17 Last race for the evening for Alain and again not for the first time the bike slowed over the course of 4 laps…. 0 points.
3: Niall Lowriston, Jordan Trott, Alain De Gruchy, Mitchell Spink 6: Lee Bryant, Alex Gagen, Alain De Gruchy, Sam Kydd 12: Alain De Gruchy, Boyd Beaton, Ashley Wakerley, Kelly Kallstrom (F) 15: T J Imbert, Alain De Gruchy, Carl Griffin, Dave Hemus (F) 17: Ross How, Wayne Josephs, Russell Genz, Alain De Gruchy
And so Alain finished the JJ with a averge of 4.48 after 10 rounds
And with this Alain packed up all his gear and made their way back home to Glastonbury and then home to the Island of Guernsey and to think over the past 10 rounds and where to go from here.
