Kings scrape a draw
The Kings dropped their first home points this season as deadly rivals Blunsdon came and almost snatched a victory. Instead it was a 45-45 draw and for the second week running ice cool Joe Finch secured the bonus point with a run off victory.
After the rabble from up the road had been making all the noise it was finally the home side who got to cheer, and how crucial could that be at the end of the season.
Bad news for Wantage was the injury to Matt Le Saux who looked like he was returning to form. He will now be missing for a few weeks, and will be the first time ever Wantage line up in a league match without him.
Scott Salkeld had a night to forget but Craig Richardson wasn't unduly worried. "Scott's been brilliant this season, and just seemed under power tonight. But he's really looking forward to next week and a return to Scotland at Hampden especially as being ex Midlothian it's what he calls the 'bad side' of Scotland.
As for the meeting the unthinkable nearly happened, so once again thank goodness for Joe Finch. That point is really crucial to us and keeps our destiny in our own hands."
2 in under 18s final
Wantage pair Jamie Airey and John Stroud both qualified for the British under 18s final after magnificent performances in the semi. Stroud came close to winning the event in a remarkable performance for a juvenile jaunt rider. Both are now looking forward to the experience and making a name for themselves.
It's been an amazing season for Stroud, who also has the JJ GPs to look forward to.
