I have possibly been noticeable by my absence for a while, thank god you're obviously thinking, but the posts recently have been very few and far between, and boring. Does nobody want a chat or have an opinion on speedway, SIM or real. Or even football, all the Chelski fans have gone quiet since the mighty SAINTS whopped them the other week.

My team had to come from 2 goals down to scrape a point at home to the mighty Loughborough Dynamo yesterday so I'm not shouting too loudly about football on here :-) Still, we're hanging on to a play off place in the Northern Premier League Division 1 South at the moment so it's not all bad!

I watched an interesting FA Trophy match between Thurrock and Guernsey last Saturday, too busy this week mapping out the rest of our lives. We've already gone out of 3 cups! Went out of the FA Cup when we gave a 16 year old his debut in goal and he got sent off in 42 seconds! FA Trophy is the one we're still in but got a really tough game at Marine at the end of this month. Suspect we'll be concentrating on the league after that but I'll gamely go and see how we do anyway! Still better than watching Wednesday!

I had the pleasure of watching a game at Sheffield in the late 90's (you were probably still in short trousers, lol) that was a cup game cannot even remember the opposition, with some guys from work, your team have some history are they not the oldest football club in the UK?

love speedway the most exciting sport i have watched but thats not enough the real life promotors have no idea and are killing the sport i believe it will end up strictly amateur in this country eventually. Clubs are in trouble as i speak with Cradley, coventry and the lakeside Hammers to name three who might not be around next season and also swindon no track as of yet so where will they go. more rules less meetings i follow Lakeside in the elite league thats a joke what is elite two reserves race in the national league two more in the premier league for rye house and glasgow only thing elite is andreas Jonsson very disillusioned with the whole sport. Hate the play off's with a passion if it was ever introduced on here i would stop playing how can a team race all season finish top of the league then perhaps lose it over a single meeting can you imagine that in football ?. I am disgusted with all the promotors in real life who have destroyed my sport with idiotic rules over the seasons i was just reading about Rye House in the speedway star they have used 38 guests this season i think it said and my own club i went to leicester for our away meeting there and 6 riders were guests and rider repacement for the other so half the riders there were not legal riders for either team sorry about the rant fellahs just needed to get it off my chest.

Fantastic Steve, my sentiments exactly, and I've got a few more. Still Stadion Narodowy, Warsaw want to give me a free programme and a meaningless Sunday meeting in repayment for the £300 I wasted that weekend, sounds like a bargain, to someone, NOT ME !!!!

Something certainly needs to be done for speedway to survive. I personally think 1 race night for the Elite is the way to go. It would be more attractive to the top riders just like in Poland and Sweden (and SIM of course) and put the Elite back into Elite. Do away with fast track reserves or whatever they are called that is something for the Premier League to look at.
Oh and give all the top riders to the Stars so we can at least win the top league once in my lifetime!!

My team Wolves look like having a real Swedish flavour in 2016. Andreas Jonsson Freddie Lindgren Jacob Thorsell Joel Anderson That's the rumour anyway. Personally, I would like each club to have 3 fast track riders, as you can guarantee one being on PL or NL duty. I also think the top 8 fast trackers from this season just gone need to now be moved into the main body of the team at an assessed 4.00 average to help their development. One race wouldn't work. I remember the days when me and my parents went Wolves Friday, Cradley Saturday and Birmingham Sunday.....we couldn't afford to do it now!!! Lakeside should go PL, Edinburgh need to go EL. Alternatively, chuck all the EL and PL in a pot, and split it North and South. Top 2 from each go into play offs....could run a big KO Cup then for all with these meeting run as double headers. They just my thoughts. Steve

Its amazing really my fellow promoters on here have more of an idea then the real ones yes would love to see the leagues divided into north and south then have the league champions and runners up from each league do battle in a play off with the winners being declared UK speedway play off champions. And make it harder to have guest's if a rider is injured the you have to use r/r if two from same team are injured then use guest or if any injury is long term then the club must sigh another rider i know that r/r will penalize clubs but injuries are part of the sport and i would sooner have r/r rather then having guest like on here fellah's my number one fredrik Andersen has suffered a long term injury and i could have used a guest to cover for him but i went out and signed another rider as i want my own riders to ride for my club. There is so much in real speedway that is wrong and i really don't know if it now can be reversed i am a regular at lakeside from the day it opened and took my two sons when they were young to when they started work neither of them go anymore the reasons in there own words are to many guests never knowing when lakeside will race the farcical double tac subs could go on but there is no point we all now in here what is wrong but in the real world of speedway no one seems to. Why do i love this sport so much watching four riders blast at breakneck speed round a small oval track is something that amazed me from my first meeting at rayleigh till now and also the fans of speedway i have been all over this country watching speedway and you can talk to anyone from eastbourne fans to glasgow fans without the fear of being attacked sad to see it in such a state which like i said i cannot see it recovering from.

Oldest football club in the world no less! I'm listed in the programme as the official club historian so with a few clues I could possibly dig out details of the game! You've got my age a bit wrong though - late 90s I'd have looked a bit weird turning up to work in short trousers! Big game against Market Drayton Town tonight - you can follow my live match updates on @sheffieldfc_com on Twitter :-)

Andy you are a phenomenon, that's some title in a club with such a history.
Wow!

I'd hate watch a team in the EL...same teams rolling round week in week! We should have British League and a Development league and then it rolls out across the country with teams which would all have the same Average!
Even a north south split or a regional system is the way to go in my opinion just like American sports! Makes the leagues have derbys and then you don't get the same teams coming week in week out!
4 leagues of 4 teams! You race your own league home and away twice 12meetings and then you race two other leagues home and away another 12 meetings! So you don't race all three leagues but you revolve the leagues each year!
Then you have top of your league play second in the league you have not raced so that's 2 more meetings! And then you get four left! How that work then I've not worked out but all in all 28 meetings in a season and cup with all the teams drawn against each other!
Bring the cost down by teams having less meetings and fans having less matches at a lower price!
That's always the way I though we should go about it, imagine a league of Coventry, Leicster, Wolves and Cradley/Birmingham! It be brill and then you still face another 6 teams home and away!
