As we move forward the need for some new blood and a better fortune for those deserving fans.
Fred Taylor called on the local speedway press to come on board as he unveiled his new number 1.
Andy Lawson at 33 was the man Taylor wants as a talisman to lead the team back into a more competitive arena.
The huddle of fans gave a cheer when the news was heard over the tannoy.
Taylor continued with two riders who will be leaving the Megano skipper Craig Axentiff and Leigh Billington, both riders thanked the crowd for their support and admitted their disappointment things have not worked out, Leigh would like to move to Europe, but for Craig he is returning home as he has missed his family in his time here and that is one of the reasons for his leaving.
Again the fans showed their appreciation.
Taylor then advised we may have to wait a short time for news of our other signing, as the rider may still be in bed.

After a cup of tea and a bacon roll the assembled masses saw Taylor make his move taking up the mike he presented to the crowd Greg Pymer an asset of Tilbury Dockers who now becomes a permanent signing for the Whales.
The huddle of fans excitement stirred with whistles and air horns, much more vociferous than the arrival of Lawson.
After the press took their pics and interviews out came Andy Lawson onto the podium.
Andy with his soft Scottish brogue invited questions from the fans, only a few hearty welcomes and how he sees his role at the Megano.
He began "well I will be the new number 1 and your team captain moving forward, along with young Greg here we are hoping to put back the energy into the team and give us a more competitive edge. I know the obss well from our years in the sport and admire his intentions, things look grim but lets ignore our dire league position and go out and enjoy the rest of the season, we have some real talent here and most are young riders wanting to be successful in our sport, I am here to help the coaches and guide the team through the difficult times ahead".
Cheers rang out as both riders put up a hand gesturing the crowd before disappearing.
Taylor thanked everyone for their efforts to be here at an unearthly time of day and spoke honestly we may not survive but next season we will have a base to build on.

With Milton Keynes Cats recalling Sergei Malenkov from his loan Estuary call on the services of ex racer James Gachet the Irish skid kid.
As our season is moving into the last throws of staving of relegation we allowed Malenkov to go off loan to join his parent clubs battle to get into the UL.

21/11/2015 at THE DEN - ATTENDANCE 860 SIM SPEEDWAY 2015/16 - EVOLUTION LEAGUE
Life after our recent changes looked as though things were looking up, but not so as the Paul Wyer inspired Begals took the fight right back to the Whales who conceded 8 points over the last three heats and were beaten on the night and to the BP, a good start for the effervescent Wyer,
For the Whales though the impressive Swede Tommy Frandsen put in by far his best effort to date.
Only PP got close to supporting him with 9, Andy Lawson the new skipper produced only one race win, whilst Pymer did better with two good heat performances, Gachet on debut warmed into the task and reserves Gheorge one heat win and nothing else and Jessup in 5 heats returned a steady 4+1, better but still not good enough.
For the Bengals it looks as though Mr Wyer has inspired Bjorn Jensen who put together a career best 16/6 and the expereinced Komac 10+1/5 and it was his last pass of the night on PP that gave the Bengals all three points.
