Local rivals Hull Angels took the spoils and the bonus point in the Battle of the Humber in front of a bumper crowd
Bottesford were well in the meeting up until Heat 10, but a final flurry of Heat wins in the latter stages by the North Bank hosts sealed the win by 10 points.
Led by a Brage Moller-Bech 15 point maximum, Hull signalled their intent in the very first race as he, and team-mate Brian Walton took a 5-1 maximum over Lewie Carr and Martin Greer. Greer was handily placed in 2nd when his primary chain disintegrated on the third band of lap 2 and his bike ground to a halt.
Ricky Ede won Heat 2 but Will Stone was unable to find a way past the Hull reserve pairing in a shared heat, before Zoltan Stepukhin & Hamish Hamilton claimed the Bullet's only maximum heat advantage in the next to level the scores at 9-9.
The sides remained deadlocked as Heats 4 & 5 were shared, with the visitors taking the lead in Heat 6 with a 4-2 as Hamilton won and Stepukhin followed home in 3rd behind Hull's Nicol Urquhart.
The lead was short lived with the Angels stamping their home authority on the next three Heats to open up an 8 point lead after Heat 10. Martin Greer then took the flag ahead of Derek Landels with Bottesford's Tactical sub Mike Cartwright filling in third ahead of Urquhart to offer the visitors a glimmer of hope of at least a bonus point. With the unbeaten Moller-Bech out in Heats 13 & 15 Hull fancied their own chances and delivered in full with a 5-1 in Heat 13, before Greer and Hamilton claimed a 4-2 in Heat 14.
Moller-Bech then completed his full house in the final race, with greer 2nd and Stepukhin 3rd, 50-40 to Hull the final score.
Martin Greer top scored for the Bullets, again and was disappointed at the loss, "I had a poor start with the chain going in the first race, but was happy with things from then on in personally, though to lose the bonus point was a disappointment, we'd targetted grabbing that, knowing it was a tough ask to come here and win as Hull are strong at home and in excellent form. Still we're improving as a team and are much more compact away from home now despite the 10 point loss today"
Bottesford now face Westwood at Home in the Academy League in their next fixture with a huge task of clawing back the bonus point after a heavy 14 point loss earlier in the season at the Wizards' Thanet Arena.
