American starlet Eugene Burkes stole the show on his home debut with 8 points to help them to a narrow 45-44 victory over Whitby Vampires.
Burkes made his debut the previous week at Lanarkshire and recorded a paid win in his opening meeting he then showed some brilliant form to help his new team to victory in front of a record 2,546 crowd at the Dock Yard.
Team boss Graeme Bailey was delighted, particularly his second place in Heat 14 which saw him come in as a reserve replacement.
"There is always pressure to perform when you are brought in but we thought he had earned his chance and he brought the house down with his pass on Colton to take second which proved crucial.
"He has really given us a boost but after two meetings for him to be averaging over 5 is way beyond our expectations."
