London Jets rip up the A1 to Hull, didn't end up going to plan as the League Leaders lost 47-43 losing the meeting by 4 and after the draw at home, losing the bonus point as well.
Skipper Scott Allen (paid 12) and Vaclav Cervenka (paid 13) led the away team charge, but they struggled for solid support from the team with only Hennesy (2 race wins for 6) and Imbert (1 race win for 6) giving any sort of support.
After going 6 behind after 3 races, and pulling level after heat 5, the home side ramped up the pressure to go 10 clear after 9 heats.
Back to back heat wins by Scott Allen in 10 and 11 wasn't enough as the home side hung on for victory.
The loss drops the Jets down to 3rd and 2 points behind Westwood Wizards, but manager Alan Baylee is remaining optimistic despit the defeat. He said, "We have 2 meetings at home out of the 3 remaining, with the away meeting at leaders Westwood. We will be taking each meeting one at a time, with the focus now firmly on Bottesford at the Starbug. We lost by 5 at their place, so we feel this is a great opportunity to grab all 3 points on offer. We cant do anything about any other teams results, we can only determine ours......45 heats that will make or break our season."
When asked about his team, Baylee added, "Scott and Vaclav have been nothing short of awesome this season. Tom Hennesy (+1.41), Jamie Airey (+0.70), Charlie Noone (+0.89) and TJ Imbert (+1.89) have all added to their averages this season which is a credit to each and every one of them, and with Chad Wilkin getting injured, and adding to his average too before injury, we have managed to get rising star Adam Bridgett, who has also shown glimpses of great potential. We just want to keeping and get promoted as Champions!!!!"
