It was a great week for the Bratislava Buzzards who were confirmed as Euro League 2 winners, and with it promotion to League 1, with one round to spare.
They head Warsaw, Paris and Copenhagen by a gap of 4 clear points and cannot be caught.
Some Euro sides have been picked apart by UK promoters at various stages but the Buzzards were not slowed up by losing 2 riders and have been a strong all round team all season. They don't have any huge individual stars but a good mix of experience and youth and in Zvara, Masaryk and Baluch a trio of young riders who will be looking forward eagerly to the challenge of League 1 speedway.
Warsaw couldn't quite get their tail end firing often enough but will hope to claim 2nd spot in the final round of meetings. Paris and Copenhagen both built great sides but lost 4 riders each to the pull of the UK leagues during the season.
At the other end struggling Madrid were confirmed as the bottom placed side, having won just 2 meetings so far despite the battling efforts of Antunovich, Cazares, Alonso and Carmichael at the top of the team.
Next week Division 1 holds its penultimate round with Moscow holding a 2 point lead over Oslo and Prague and Helsinki looking to avoid relegation over the final meetings.
