Wednesfield Wanderers could only manage a 45-45 draw at home to Thornaby. After their first meeting ended exactly the same, 45-45, there was a bonus point run off, and once again Wednesfield lost out in the run off with Vaughan beaten by Beijerholm. 2 5-1's in the first 6 heats gave Wednesfield a 6 point lead which was extended to 8 after 8 years but 5-1's to Thornaby in heats 9 and 11 pegged the scores level. Wednesfield again went 4 in front in heat 12, before a heat 13 reverse and 2 tied heats sent the meeting into a bonus point run off. Morgan said afterwards," to have 8 last places at home and 8 heat winners does not constitute a victory. We lacked consistency throughout the meeting and it definitely feels like 2 points lost......but we will dust ourselves down for the trip to Ispwich where we will look to get our 2nd away win of the season and put ourselves back in the promotion mix.." "the boys have had a knock back but we will go out this week to take their minds off track matters in the hope to relax them ready for a last push....."
