Once upon a time the Panthers and our southern counterparts Lakeside Kestrels were the kings of bringing through youngsters,in those days it was called the Development League and we must have fought out more finals than Real Madrid & Barcelona. Jump forward a few years to the new set up called the Juvenile Jaunt and our first lad Kevin'Fred'Taylor was a fast learner and is now plying his trade successfully at Stockport Shaleblasters in the AL. For the last 3 seasons we have had the misfortune letting 16 year old Maxie North blow our reputation to smithereenes, yes he looks the part, talks like a speedway rider but in all honesty he's fucking useless. He never listens to anybody bar his auld man who also tends to his machinery and when you consider his auld man delivers horse shit to gardeners that will tell you volumes of his expertise. Jinky Baxter tried to get him to the "Lomonds" last week to prepare him for this first meeting but didn't show,he was probably sniffing Pinapple juice in his shed that's the mentality of this dick head. I actually went along to the dark side through in the west to watch this disaster perform and I wasn't disapointed,in his first heat he was still playing about with his goggles when the tapes went up but managed a third,he actually won heat 6 which without doubt was the worst race of the night then he caused absolute mayhem in heat 11 in which not one rider finished the race(cannot remember this happening before) His fourth attempt wasn't much better the closest he got to another rider was at the start then in his Grande Finale he forgot to turn left and it was all over in seconds. Absolute mayhem just about to start,North in yellow Pitstalker

SURPRISE,SURPRISE IT'S A NEW YEAR FOR MAXIE !!Did this kid knock his head or something,Maxie North doesn't do proper bike set ups so how did he manage to go through the card unbeaten at Stockport. One theory I have come up with is that over the festive season he had a Uncle come over from Amerikay, yes he's half Irish anyhow this Uncle works for NASA not in Kennedy Space Centre but in White Sands,New Mexico. You can guess were this is leading to so how did he get the stuff over here ? How much of it would he need just to gate ? Whatever the reason behind this miraculous performance he needs to get in touch with Jinky Baxter, reveal all so we can get our big guns firing in the Ultimate League. I didn't make the meeting myself as I was incapactaited not with flu or anything like that but from a bottle of something which didn't agree with me. According to the "Sim Star Reporter"Maxie outgated everyone to win his five races which I still find hard to believe having slated the guy after his recent poor effort in week 1, that said I still haven't changed my mind about him, maybe he will prove me wrong but a Leopard doesn't change his spots,we shall see. MAXIE SCORES DOUBLE FIGURES AGAIN !!
For a second meeting on the trot Maxie North scored double figures(10) to move to 4th in the Northern Riders standings and ninth in the overall standings, has he got a twin ? I know Jinky Baxter is a genuis with the youngsters who come into the game but Maxie is in his third season having done sweet fuck all for two seasons so what's bringing about the change.Firstly it seems his auld man is barred from the pit area following a bust up at the Dark sides Carrickstone Arena in round 1 were he lamped Cameron Monk's mechanic and secondly Iain Hines(gulp) has been doing his sets ups and generally looking after the mutt. Still along way to go before I admit I'm wrong Pitstalker

MAXIE SECOND AT BOWMOUNT PARKMaxie somehow continues to shine with a excellent second place(after run off) to Teessides Giles Hill at"Mein Papas" Bowmount Park to share the lead in the Northern section with a staggering 8.20 average. It looks like Iain Hines magical touch with Mutts set ups is doing the business and long may it continue but I still have my doubts as to what brought about this sudden change. The mutt can hardly string two words together so I think I will have a word in 57's earhole and see if he can shed any light on this unbelievable transformation. If I can get a little help frfom the social I just might go to Craggy for the next meeting and see for myself what's going on. Pitstalker

3 WINS ON THE TROT !!!!NORTH POWERS TO HOME WIN TO COMPLETE THE TREBLE AT RICHMOND LANEWell I witnessed it with my own eyes and all I can say is Iain Hines must be a magician, whatever he has done either mechnically or Psychologically he has turned this guy who was as useful as a ashtray on a motorbike into a promising young speedway rider(Yes I am chocking as I write this) Maxie looked rock solid all night but had to play second fiddle to Purchase Racings Tommy Davey after a ding dong battle in his last ride, Tommy by the way looks a really good rider and could be one for the future. I would be amazed if Chris McKinna's efforts this season do not attract managers from all over especially as the youngster is unattached and I have to give the Teesside lad a plug to he looks very comfortable on a bike and is very stylish. All in all it was delight to see how these guys have come on since the beginning of the season and with only three meetings remaining Maxie looks good to finish Cock of the North. One last thing,I suppose it's time to eat # # # # # # # Pitstalker

FOUR IN A ROW !!I used to keep records on the Panthers web site but alas because of something beyond my control(probably pissed at the time) they disappeared into the outer sphere and I can't be arsed to go back in time, life is to short. That said I cannot remember ever having a rider never mind a kid who won four consecutive events on the trot certainly not anyone wearing the famous Panthers race jacket so maybe our anorak fae Sheffield might enlighten us if this a Sim record that our fantastic youngster "Maxie North"(cough cough)has achieved. Regardless what happens in the remainder of the season I can see a mass of Academy League managers throwing plenty of the hard earned to get his signature(don't know if he can write)for next season but I must warn you now his signing on fee will have to be larger than the norm (well he's got to pay for these injections)as he has found his messiah in Iain Hines who spanners for him now. MAXIE SETTLES FOR ROSTRUM PLACEA mistake by maxie in the run off for second place gave him third place and see's him top the North rivals by .53 which should be good enough to claim the Northern Riders division. At this moment of time our future world champion(cough cough)also heads the overall averages in this seasons JJ if he can get a win or a rostrum place in his final round at The Dock Yards that could see him crowned the King of the averages of course the highlight of the season still to face our hero(splutter) is the three Grand Prix style meetings, let's hope he can break the Midlands riders strangle hold on this competition. Maxie has won 5 rounds which is a record but it's his 4 in a row which will take all the beating in seasons to come. Pitstalker

MAXIE "COCK OF THE NORTH"
Nine points but still crowned the Northern Champion tonight at The Dock Yard in what has been an a amazing season for the youngster. The turnaround in Maxie's form has been quite a eye opener mainly due to Iain Hines who took over the reins as mechanic & Godfather since his dad was barred for fighting. Caution at the gate was a sensible approach given that Maxie suffered a little after touching the tapes in his first heat which shows he is learning to use his head more. Maxie now heads to the final 3 Grand Prix's knowing he has broken the records for most wins in a season, can he win it,this depends on the youngster taking in the advice from his mentor and if he does he could be the North's first ever National League Champion rider,we wish him well. The JJ committee send our congratulations to Maxie North and the Midlothian management on him becoming the Northern JJ champion for 2014/15. The mentoring and coaching he has received has turned him from a wild and over enthusiastic rider to a more mature and controlled one with a big future ahead of him. More mentoring and coaching in the lead up to and during the GP finals will certainly help him in his quest to become the first overall champion from the North.

MAXIE TAKES THE FIRST GRAND PRIXOur World Champion in the making won the first of three GP's but finds himself four points behind Ray France of Kings Lynn Lightning. It took some strong words from Iain Hines to get Maxie going after he had made a poor start to the proceedings but once he got his head into gear there was no stopping him as he rattled of four race wins on the trot to book a semi final spot. Once again Ray France got the drop on him but runner up was good enough for a final appearance, although there was a lot of tension beforehand Maxie fairly nailed it with a great gate and went straight for the white line,Tomy Davey challenged on his outside but the flying North pushed him wide and was soon in contorl to take the chequered flag. Iain Hines commented"There's alot of expectation and pressure on this kid and it showed but once he settled down he looked the rider he is capable off which augurs well for the remaining two GP's" Further good news Maxie has been offered a contract for next season but mums the word for now.
